Aim

The conference aim is to foster knowledge exchange and transfer between academia, researchers and industry practitioners. It is therefore a good opportunity to showcase the latest, cutting edge research and developments related to the conference theme.


Scope

Researchers and industry practitioners are cordially invited to submit papers, case studies and best practice solutions related to the conference theme and topics as detailed below (this list is not exhaustive):

•    Business/finance innovation
•    Capacity building for climate and environmental change
•    Corporation and partnerships for service innovation
•    Customer and user innovation
•    Ecosystem services
•    Environment and water infrastructure systems
•    ICT for water
•    Innovation in regulations and policies
•    Innovation in water supply and treatment
•    Innovation in product design and manufacturing
•    Integrated resource efficiency and resilience e.g. combined SUDS, flood and drought management
•    Local, regional and global case studies and good practice
•    Smart and resilient cities
•    Smart technologies and systems
•    Supply chain standards and processes
•    Water efficiency in all sectors; domestic, industry, agriculture etc.
•    Water-energy, water-energy-food nexus
•    Water governance and politics
•    Water quality, reuse and recycling
•    Water scarcity, security and WASH
•    Water in nature: hydrology, land use, low and high peak trends etc.
•    Other associated topics not listed above


Key dates

Abstract submission deadline:
30 October 2017
Paper submission deadline: 30 March 2018
Revised paper submission deadline: 31 May 2018
Registration opens:
8 January 2018
Early registration deadline: 31 May 2018
Conference starts:
5 September 2018


Participation formats

 Papers and presentation:

  • Full research papers should be maximum 10 pages long.
  • Shorter length industry papers and case studies are welcome. This can be up to 4 pages, but also not more than 10 pages maximum.
  • At least one author of the paper will be required to attend and present the paper at the conference
  • All papers will be subjected to a double-blind review process and included in the open-access ISBN registered e-proceedings.
 

Posters and abstracts:

•    A1 size, full-colour research or industry posters can be displayed at the conference
•    A 250-word abstract of the poster will be included in the conference proceedings
•    At least one author of the poster will be required to attend the conference

Flash presentations and abstracts:

•    Quick-fire 5-minute presentation of research or industry work followed by round-table Q&A and discussion
•    Multi-media options e.g. short videos, performances are allowed
•   A 250-word abstract of the presentation will be included in the conference proceedings
•    The presenter will be required to attend the conference
