Trinidad & Tobago

The Caribbean island of Trinidad is located just off the tip of Venezuela and is the larger of the two major islands of the Trinidad and Tobago island republic. The island is the fifth largest in the West Indies and boasts an alluring blend of cultural, artistic, historical and ecological interests.

There is a spectacular range of natural resources on the island including lush forests, beautiful beaches and dazzling waterfalls. The indigenous Amerindians gave Trinidad it's original name “Iere” which means the “Land of the Humming Bird” and nature watching is a must when visiting with a stunning diversity of wildlife including 100 species of mammals, 433 birds, 93 reptiles, 49 amphibians and a myriad of marine and freshwater fish.

Other outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, surfing, kayaking, fishing, and boating which provide unforgettable opportunities to experience the magnificent tropical landscape.

Port of Spain serves as the capital city of Trinidad and Tobago and is one of the busiest commercial centres in the Caribbean. It is a hotbed of entrepreneurial and artistic activity with a multicultural character set to a home-grown calypso soundtrack. It's nightlife has earned it the label of the “City that Never Sleeps”, whilst each year it showcases one of the world’s biggest carnivals. Other attractions include cricket and football matches, a botanic garden, malls, an art and history museum and historic buildings.

Tobago is located just two hours away by fast ferry (details below) and is comparatively tranquil. Clear blue seas contrast with pale pink sands and golden sunsets. Protected rainforests and stunning coral reefs complete this paradise.

Trinidad and Tobago has also been nominated in the Caribbean category of the World Travel Awards 2021!
