About Bristol

Bristol Harbour Festival

Located in the South West of England, Bristol has been a wealthy trading port since the Roman era - John Cabot sailed from Bristol on The Matthew to help 'discover' North America in 1497. The city played an important role in England's maritime trade in tobacco, wine, cotton and more.

These days Bristol is a buzzing, multicultural city with a thriving music, arts and food scene.  Named as one of the best cities to live in in the UK, it is also one of the greenest, winning acclaim for its work towards environmentally friendly initiatives and fairtrade status.

Conference venue

The conference will be held at the University of West of England's Frenchay Campus, located just four miles north of the City of Bristol.
