Industry practitioners can submit short papers of 4 pages to the conference. These papers can present case studies, project reviews, product and service innovation etc.
Academic members are also reminded that the deadline for the abstract has been extended until 2ndMarch 2015.

Field Trip to Berlin
Please join us in congratulating Fernanda Garcia Alba Garciadiego, a PhD student from University College London who has been selected for the sponsored place on our forthcoming trip to Berlin. She aims to use the knowledge gained to transfer the ideas for urban water management from Berlin for application in Mexico City.

Watef Field Trip to the Old Ford Recycling
Plant 22nd January 2015
The WATEF Water Reuse Technical Committee spent an enjoyable afternoon at the Old Ford plant learning about the innovative processes involved in blackwater recycling. Our thanks are extended to the Thames Water team and in particular Chris James the outgoing Plant Manager and his replacement Ryland Cairns for making our visit so informative.

Technical Committees
Our three newly formed Technical Committees are beginning to put together their plans for the forthcoming network year. These will be disseminated in the form of meeting minutes published on the relevant section of the WATEF website.
The Service Innovation Technical Committee held a very successful meeting in London chaired by Aaron Burton of Ricardo and full meeting minutes will be available via the following link shortly http://www.watefnetwork.co.uk/67-331
The Surface Water Management Technical Committee are due to meet on Friday 6 February and their meeting will be followed by a tour of the new Engineering and Computing Building at the University of Coventry. Our thanks to Professor Sue Charlesworth and her team for arranging this visit to a BREEAM accredited building on behalf of the WATEF network.
